Marc and Amanda met at a bible study in 2001 and were married in 2003. During the first seven years their marriage, they attended numerous denominational and non-denominational churches, but floundered in their spiritual growth.
In 2010, they began to experience spiritual growth when they found Calvary Chapel. The simple chapter-by-chapter and verse-by-verse teaching through the whole Bible, and openness to the Holy Spirit grew their faith.
In 2012, Amanda was healed of a large blood clot. A month after diagnosis, a second sonogram revealed the clot was gone! Two months later, Marc was delivered from alcoholism and career idolatry. At a baptism, the Holy Spirit impressed upon Marc... 'You need to put to death the old man, and you need to get baptized again.' Marc came out of the water changed as he received the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and was called into ministry. Pro 1:23 summarizes Marc’s testimony: “Turn at my rebuke; Surely I will pour out my spirit on you; I will make my words known to you.”
In May 2013, Marc quit his career, they sold or gave away all their stuff, and drove from Maryland to California to enroll at Calvary Chapel Bible College. Marc presently has over 60 Bible College Credits and is 7 credits shy of his Bachelor of Biblical Studies.
During Marc’s first semester, the Lord stirred their hearts to serve as missionaries in the Philippines. God opened the doors and provided all the funding for their family of six to serve in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental, Philippines from July 2014 to December 2016. Their ministry consisted of: bible study, medical aid, construction of a ministry pavilion, distributing bibles and helping people with material needs.
In 2017, they returned to their sending church where Marc was on staff and Amanda led worship, until the Lord redirected them to Indiana in 2018 and opened a door for church planting in Warsaw in 2020.
Each step of the way since 2012, Marc and Amanda have been led by the Spirit. They have been in seasons of waiting on the Lord, and seasons of active ministry. But, each step and each place they have lived has been God's plan and His leading. They rest knowing the Lord has opened and closed doors, and whatever He wants to do with the ministry or their very lives, He will.
“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ Says the Lord of hosts.” Zech 4:6
